Regulation
In some countries, measurement is the condition of reimbursement.
In Belgium, since July 2025, reimbursement for a mechatronic knee requires a baseline measurement, a video record, and evidence of a change in the gait pattern against that baseline. We did not build this for Belgian regulation — but this is exactly that document.
In production
ai'am pro and ai'am hub have been running in production at Inovamed — a network of prosthetics clinics in Poland — for about two years. That is where the platform was built, and it is still where it is used every day.
Boundaries
ai'am motion is used for measurement and documentation. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose and it does not recommend treatment. AI supports the specialist's decision — it never makes it. Clinical decisions remain with the professional.

Development of an innovative, comprehensive system for designing a leg prosthesis, with a particular focus on an intelligent prosthetic socket, using an AI/ML algorithm to improve the quality of life of people with mobility impairments resulting from a congenital absence or amputation of a lower limb.
ORTO ALGORYTMICS SP. Z O.O. is carrying out industrial research and experimental development for a system to select and evaluate lower-limb prostheses. The project includes research infrastructure, equipment and software. It serves prosthetic workshops, physicians, prosthetists and patients after lower-limb amputation. The intended result is a fully digital fitting process, reducing socket production time from 21 to 5 days.
